The Pleasanton police annual report: "The report says there has not been a statistical increase in crime at the mall since the BART station opened there."

Wow, what are all the people on these boards going to say to that, as they complain all the time about the increase in crime due to Bart?

Ignore the facts, I am sure.

@ Map and Get Real

The stats are what they are. You're looking at anecdotal evidence to prove your cases.

Don't you think the PPD would be making a case to city council if crime was actually up and there was a need for more officers???

By the way, Map, if you're NOT locking stuff up, you're just asking for someone to take your stuff, whether it's someone from "the other side of the hill" or just a kid in your neighborhood.

To Just the Facts,

Some people are happy to ignore statistics. To them are higher crime rate means seeing more of the kinds of people who make them feel uncomfortable.

Why I can clearly see that BART causes crime in Ptown. We have 2.3 burglaries per 1000 population while Livermore (no BART) has 3.8 burglaries per 1000 population. Just the Facts.
