Another failure -- Common Core Standards may be dropped?

Original post made by Titanic, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Apr 29, 2013

The Washington Post reports that the so-called Common Core Standards that is supposed to be implemented nationwide next year is under fire in multiple states.

Recent testing in NY state using the Common Core Standards asked questions that were not even part of the curriculum. It was so bad it brought children to tears.

The article Web Link here states that in states around the country, states are putting a halt to implementing this approach.

Interestingly, the left and the right are both panning the Common Core Standards.

It may be that NY is not teaching Common Core curriculum and need to upgrade their standards. Many "tenured" teachers are against the program because it requires them to come up to speed and provide a responsible learning environment. Also, the union is against the program because it indicates which teachers do not competent and will document their inadequacies!
