Gary Alt is a registered user.

Very sad situation for everyone - the donors, the beneficiaries, and the community. I hope there is proper insurance coverage to restore the funds. I wish the story mentioned the whereabouts and status of Dave Rice.

The take-home lesson here is to never let a third party handle your donations. Take the time to identify worthy causes and deal with them directly.

The article states that no criminal charges have been filed against Rice.

Why not?
In an earlier article, it was stated that David Rice had moved to Texas. Like Gary Alt, I'd like to know what he's doing there. I really hope that he's not working with another charity.
