Buddhist Boot Camp at Pleasanton's Towne Center Books today

Original post made on Feb 28, 2013

The idea behind Buddhist Boot Camp is simple: "Boot Camp" is a training method, and Buddhism is all about training the mind. Many people claim they don't have time to meditate every morning, but they still want spiritual guidance without any dogma or rituals, and that's exactly what Buddhist Boot Camp provides in a quick and easy-to-digest format. Learn more abut Timber Hawkeye and Buddhist Boot and listen to his Ted Talk at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Towne Center Books, 555 Main St. For more information, call 925-846-8826.

When they say Buddhist Boot Camp does that mean they're preparing people for war? Who are the enemies of Buddhism?

Are you people totally ignorant ? Meditation is practice to quiet the mind. Buddhist are not war mongers idiot. You might want to see what its about before you jump to ridiculous conclusions and make judgements. I expected better from Pleasanton residence !

I have always expected better from Pleasanton residents, but became disenchanted with too many members of our Community starting about 10 years back. Too many people have no values; only thinking of what they can get from society free - Gimme Gimme. No, Buddhists are not war mongers, but they do not believe in God. They are not Christians; while 70% of our Nation's people are. They are not the only ones, who practice meditation. Other faiths and religions do also. Stop calling people idiots!
