Our neighbor called the city and was told that it might be a while since so many trees are down. The tree went down at 1:30, the first truck arrived around 3pm, in all 9 city workers with 5 vehicles were eventually working on clearing the tree from the road and they finished about 5:30. There was still a lot of cut logs along the side of the road, but there were here early in the morning hauling them away.
Many thanks to the Operations Services Department for their efficient work in clearing the roadway. They even went 3 houses down where a tree fell on a neighbor’s driveway and cleared it, although it wasn’t blocking the road. She had just run an errand, came home and the tree had landed just where her car was parked prior to the errand.
We were all blessed, lucky, fortunate that no one was injured, and there was no damage to our property. Everyone was out in the street after the storm, we got to visit with our neighbors a lot yesterday. And, I won't need to pick up so many leaves in the fall.
