MLK Fellowship Breakfast honors three Tri-Valley Citizens

Dr. Martin Luther King Fellowship Breakfast honors three from the Tri-Valley
The 23rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Fellowship Breakfast for the Tri-Valley will be held in person on Monday, January 23rd, 2023 after two years as a virtual event due to Covid.

The breakfast is sponsored by the Pleasanton Community of Character Collaborative.
This year’s keynote address will be by Dr. William Nelson, Assistant Superintendent of the Pleasanton Unified School District.

The 2023 Legacy award recipients are:

Kelly O’Lague, formerly CEO of Hively & the YMCA and President of the Pleasanton Community of Character Collaborative

Ronnie Forbes, founder of One Nation Dream Makers, a food pantry in Livermore and President of the Livermore VFW. www.onenationdreammakers.org

Matt Troiano, co-founder of the annual Tri-Valley Community Thanksgiving Dinner and active leader of the Knights of Columbus.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Dr. William Nelson is Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for the Pleasanton Unified School District. Dr. Nelson has a 25-year background of being a teacher, principal and senior district administrator for the Modesto City Schools. PUSD Superintendent David Haglund welcomed Dr. Nelson, saying “Dr. Nelson’s ability to inspire school administrators and engage educational partners in authentic and meaningful ways, as well as his depth of experience to equity will be a vital asset in leading and in service to all students”. He received his Doctor of Education at Concordia University of Irvine.
