“No connection to his work in our district and relate to a single incident in another community..” wow. It doesn’t matter where it happened. It still happened and was extremely wrong.

@Jes: I don't think the Principal's statement is making any suggestion that what the teacher is accused of doing isn't awful and unacceptable. Letting the families of the student body at Foothill know the facts presented by the authorities was clearly meant to reassure the community. Don't make implications besmirching other people's character. That's wrong in my book.

Ironically, just a couple of days ago I was talking with an old school friend from Richmond. We were talking about a VERY good-looking music teacher that we knew back in the 50's -- he also played trumpet under an alias at a local strip club. She told me she was in his class and sat at the back of the room, so she was last to file out. He stopped her and said, "You like me, don't you." She said she said nothing, but it scared the "pie" out of her.

As a former PUSD teacher, my biggest fear, and still is, having a student with a grudge against me make up some story about something I supposedly did. I have a clean conscience that I never inappropriately touched a student. However, in situations like this, you're guilty until proven innocent. Even if proven innocent, there will always be a cloud leaning over your head. I'm not saying that Hinojosa didn't do another wrong, nor am I saying the student is lying, I'm saying follow the evidence. Think of the Jussie Smollett's of the world. He wanted attending and didn't think, or care, how it can destroy someone else's life.
