I would not recommend the Sunol Blvd to Valley as the detour as Valley has numerous roundabouts that are small. I would recommend semis go down 2 more lights and turn off of Sunol Blvd to Bernal, then on to 680 North is 1 mile. Also the Valley route is inhabited with numerous homes that are feet from the road.

I may be missing something, but for Sunol to Bernal detour, why not just take Sunol off I-680 to Bernal, then turn left and return to I680 at Bernal? No need to go all the way to Valley and double back to Bernal.

I am not even sure if semis can navigate the roundabouts.

Semi trucks are allowed and expected to use the "concrete curtain" in the roundabouts on Valley, just like fire trucks and Route 8 buses that go down Valley.

5 months of no sleep for all of those poor families that live on Valley
