Rotary Club of Pleasanton Gives $61,000 to Local Students

The Rotary Club of Pleasanton awarded $41,687 to 11 local high school students and $20,000 to 8 local college students. This year the club utilized Zoom to accomplish this task. Congratulations to the following high school students. Amador High School: Harry Plett Memorial Scholarship, Kevin Alvarez; Warren Annis “Service Above Self” Memorial Scholarship, Ethan Apalis; “Senor Bob” Athenour Global Humanitarian Scholarship, Zeyu “Tony” Chen; Fausto Interian; Tim “Jennifer” Jin; Mia Kuo; Eric Perez $. Foothill High School: Carlissa Bass; Oonagh Connolly; Roger Dabney Memorial Scholarship, Maria Allison Lourenco; Nicole Medina.

Congratulations to the following college students: Junior, San Francisco State, Sheree Bishop; Junior UCBerkeley, Maria Chavez; Senior UCSanta Cruz, Fiona Debernardi; Junior, San Jose State, Lesley DeLaBarrera; Senior, San Jose State, Michelle Diaz-Nava; Junior, San Jose State, Denica Gudino; Senior, CSULong Beach, Demi Magana; Senior, UCBerkeley, Bradley Russo.

CONGRATULATIONS to all these students. The Rotary Club of Pleasanton raises funds for scholarships through its annual Spirit Run, held in October, and through donations.

I wasn't aware of these student grants/gifts which can make such a difference in their lives. I hope people sign-up in droves to the 10/31 Spirit Run to help raise funds for thesee scholarships.
