With Trump decimating library funding programs, support for your public library is more important than ever. There are those who will say that libraries are a thing of the past, that all information is now accessible online. That mindset is so far from reality that those who espouse that opinion do not know what they are talking about. Most information is NOT freely available; it is hidden in the Deep Web or behind firewalls that only libraries can access because libraries, through taxpayer dollars, purchase/lease access to that information. A common rejoinder would be that anyone can purchase access - that is incorrect. Database vendors/aggregators market to institutions, not individuals.
