The Pleasanton Chamber’s Business and Community Political Action Committee (BACPAC) announced its endorsement yesterday of incumbent Angela Ramirez Holmes for re-election to the Zone 7 water agency board of directors in tomorrow’s Primary election.

Scott Raty, the chamber’s president, said BACPAC members decided that throughout her first term, Ramirez Holmes “consistently demonstrated strong leadership where it counts most: pursuit of greater quantity and quality of water for the Tri-Valley, fiscal oversight and accountability.”

“Ramirez Holmes recognizes that our region cannot afford to rely so completely on the State Water Project,” the political action committee stated.

It added: “She was the lone board member to vote against both a 30% water rate increase and a 15% raise for the general manager, and she led the charge to air meetings on TV30.”

Raty said that Ramirez Holmes has earned the support and respect of many elected and appointed officials in the region and the BACPAC is pleased to join that distinguished list.

“A vote for Ramirez Holmes is a vote for strong leadership, accountability and transparency at Zone 7,” the political action committee stated.

  1. Angela has tried her best to break the iron-grip of control the current Z-7 GM has had over the organization… a monumental task. The GM has been heard publically expressing her disdain for Angela and stating she hopes Angela is defeated in this election. Let’s all make sure that does not happen!

    Viva PAC!
    Viva Angela!

  2. The Chamber endorsement for Angela is spot on!! She is the only current board member doing their job in promoting fiscal responsibility and transparency. She certainly has my vote!!

And now what to do with my other 2 votes for Zone 7. . .

  3. I voted for Angela too! She is a great asset to the Water Board and will continue to do a great job in her next term.
