i don't think anyone was ORDERED to stop playing because students kept on playing. A message was just recently sent out about the dangers of the game and warning students to refuse to play next year. AND..the fact that this message was sent out after the fact. The game was already over as of last weekend. I know because I am a parent of a student who was playing the game. There are rules in this game that the students cannot play the game on school campus or sporting events so the problem usually doesn't happen there. It happens around students neighborhoods and wherever they are hanging out. Glad its over. You want them to stop--make it mandatory somehow. Don't just send out a letter that states the obvious, the danger involved and then tell kids to 'think about it' for next year. Is the police warning even read by any students? Probably not.

Personally, I think this game should be banned. My daughter was a Foothill Senior last year. While this game in its original form might have been fun, the kids have now taken it to the extreme. My daughter was chased down in her car, blocked access to our court and driveway for hours, and called me crying on several occasions to come pick her up because she was being stalked. It was getting downright ridiculous! I got so tired of dealing with it I advised her to give up her position and get shot voluntarily. Find a better Senior activity!!

Probably should quit for another reason. Barney Fife and Andy already gunned down an unarmed kid and he didn't even have a toy gun. They might need a bit of tactical training. Either that or take away their guns.

Ordered? Urged? What is it PW? I read a PPD release urging kids to reconsider playing the game. It's always been an unsanctioned event. But it's a game. A game with rules that have become so rigid over the years the kids quickly lose interest and sell their demise to the highest bidder. Rules already cover no school, no driving, no trespassing. Sure, they sign up and form teams with the best intentions. Then they hunker down and park their car in the garage and not venture out for weeks. In the 15 years we've lived here, we've never notice anything so alarming to warrant this drama fest. We have noticed KIDS BEING KIDS and having fun. Seriously is really that different from a group of 10-year olds playing nerf wars at the park? Don't paint your Nerf gun black (because that's just stupid) and play by the rules. Simple as that.

I was just stating that something more severe needs to be done to get the kids attention and ban the game, not just a letter stating that it is dangerous. There was NO ORDER to do so whatsoever. Let's face it, ALL OF THIS BS is about manipulating the masses. There is plenty of evidentiary support to the fact that the powers that be want Americans to dislike firearms and the is just another one of their tools. Changing the perseption of how young people veiw guns is part of the agenda, don't fool yourselves, the youth who today don't like guns are the tyrannical adults of tomarrow. MOST gun violence episodes to are just that, episodes of INFOMERCIALS. Meaning they're choreographed fake shows to manipulate the masses, just like this hype over the assassins game. If the police use PROPER training, not the military training of shooting everyone under the perseption that they are a threat and must die, in order to move the agenda on and on. With that said, law enforcement have a very though job, with real threats from gangs, thugs from Oakland, and violent individuals who entered this country illegally, but saying I feared for my life because the skittles package the police thought was a gun justified me killing them is just as absurd as attacking this modern day game of cops and robbers the kids are playing in order to make some already groomed individuals feel good about themselvs after they have called in a situation where some have even claimed "I KNOW ITS A TOY GUN, BUT I AM STILL CALLING BECAUSE I AM PART OF THE AGENDA" much like this attack on the kids assassins game. If you don't like the peramiters of the game little Suzy Q, don't sign up to play. Oh and one more thing, please Pleasanton P.D. don't shoot some kid to make a point, save it for real threats like the one at Specialty Sales on First st. Thanks for the difficult job you do.

Last year a few teachers witnessed a group of students playing assassins sprinting through Safeway before school, heading right towards one of the guards that was changing out the money at one of the ATMs. The guard didn't know what was happening and put his hand on his gun. Luckily it stopped there, but that situation could have been WAY worse. The whole "let them play, kids will be kids" argument works fine and dandy but there will always be someone who breaks the rules, pushes it too far, and someone will get hurt. Look at Livermore last year. The game is dangerous and everyone supporting it will certainly place the blame on PPD and everyone else's kid when something bad finally does happen with this game because it is bound to!
