I'm so sorry this man and his children were put through this. I'm grateful they only got away with "stuff" and not the car with the kids in it.

I know I am a bit paranoid, but this is why I won't let me teenage daughter get a job that would put her in any parking lot alone. If this can happen in Pleasanton, it can happen anywhere.

We hear more and more about things like this going on in the parking lot of the mall, and the theft in the mall has been up, since BART made it easier to get there. The malls in other towns are destroyed by the high crime rate, police are always there, people don't want to go to those places to shop. The thugs move to a better mall, like ours. Hey, who doesn't love Ptown ? We have a great mall !! You can't say the truth though. Every time a bunch of homes are built in this area,there has to be low housing added also. These crimes are not being committed by Ruby Hills residents. So, what's the real answer to the problems here?

That makes for a nice story, but if you bother to check the annual Pleasanton Police Report, which has a whole section on Stoneridge Mall crime statistics, you'll see that there was no jump in crimes at Stoneridge Mall when the West Dublin BART station opened in February of 2011. In fact, the number of adult and juvenile crimes committed at Stoneridge Mall were both actually less in 2012 (the year after the opening of West Dublin station) than they were in 2010, the year before the opening of the West Dublin BART station.

Really? In Ruby Hill the crime of choice is major financial theft that ruins the lives of hundreds at a time. Or how about this one? The Ruby Hill Mommie who sat in the driveway collecting an admission fee from all of the high school kids entering her home to do alcohol and drugs at the party her kids were having. Hey, I guess it's not a crime to supply the drugs, the alcohol and the venue for underage parties. And of course charging an entrance fee is just so Ruby Hill too.
