ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Original post made by Mrs. Bloom, Heritage Oaks, on Aug 20, 2014

The City of Pleasanton has announced a mandatory water rationing fine for the "ice bucket challenge." Anyone caught doing the challenge will be fined $100.

Remember we are in a drought and this is clearly wasting precious water.

Could you link any proof to this? I checked the city's online municipal code and it wasn't on there yet,.

If it's true, I think all Pleasantonians should march in protest. First Obama taxes our cigarettes and tanning salons, now they want to fine us for playing with ice water.

Folks - check your humor meter. I think it is malfunctioning. I strongly suspect the post was a joke.

@ Mrs. Bloom, You have done us proud! What's the old saying," You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time". Tell "Interesting" to keep looking! :)

I did my ice bucket challenge with used toilet water and so I should definitely not be fined!

Are people not aware California's drought precludes ALL INappropriate use of water, such as dumping it on a person's head who is not in the process of his twice weekly shower. If it's not fined, certainly none of our household use should be fined.

Connie W.

You only take two showers each week? I shower daily and hope others would as well as a matter if courtesy.

Jack, Not since the restrictions. Seniors in SMALL places have nowhere else to cut water use.

I read where the fine is waived if done on the front lawn to feed the thirsty grass, as long as one does it in their birthday suit so that most of the water runs off the skin and not absorbed in their clothes.
