How can this method of police work be applied to prevent drugs and alcohol availability to high school students?

I wonder how much this cost and if we paid any overtime for this. Seems like a lot of resources for no result.

If you follow this story from the beginning you would realize at first they cited about half the establishments with selling to minors. The PD continued to employ these stings and over the coarse of a couple of years the establishments have stopped selling to minors. Great work PD!

I think that "no result" is exactly the result that you want in this type of operation. That not one store sold to a minor is considered a 100% passing grade. The next "no result" that would be a huge success would be no store selling alcohol to minors. I hope the PD stays vigilant in this area of enforcement. It is a slow process to complete compliance but well worth the effort.

What a crock and waste of money. Cigarettes are not healthy but in the overall scheme of things not our biggest issue. How about going after drugs and alcohol? There are underage parties all over this town every Friday and Saturday nights and the police know where these parties are at but don't address it with the parents or the underage kids. How about the epidemic of overweight kids and parents in this town. Talk about a health issue, Going here to the mall is like going to a livestock show. If this is all our police have to do then we have too many of them and we should reduce.

As I recall the teens are volunteers who ride about with the PPD to learn more about what's it all about to be involved with law enforcement.

The majority of teens that I've known are really neat guys 'n gals! It's never a waste of to spend money on educating young Americans.

teens that want to smoke are going to find a way no matter what. Same with parties.

Doing what we can to educate and protect teens from smoking is a good deed.

if cigarettes are that bad for all, why not just outlaw them? oh ya, they generate a huge tax revenue stream.
