Emergency at Pleasanton Convalescent Hospital?

Original post made by Downtowner, Downtown, on Sep 15, 2013

There were over 10 emergency vehicles in front of and across the street from the Pleasanton Convalescent Hospital on Neal St. near Second St Sunday evening around 7:30 or 8:00. I heard sirens from my house for about 10-15 minutes prior to this. It was literally the biggest emergency response I have seen in 25 years. It appeared that the convalescent center was evacuated into the parking lot and sidewalk, and Neal St. was partially blocked.

There was no emergency notification via Nixle and there seems to be nothing on the Weekly or Pleasanton Patch. Does anyone know what happened? Were there injuries?

They had a fire in the laundry room. We were notified after everyone was back inside the facility. The staff, firemen, paramedics, police and volunteers all reacted very professionally. I don't have any other details. I too, noticed no notice from Nixle. It was a large event for Pleasanton.
