Resturant suggestions

Original post made by Pat, Vineyard Avenue, on May 14, 2013

We are a group of ladies around 25 of us that are looking for a restaurant that can seat all of us together. We meet monthly and celebrate birthdays. Most are seniors so we are looking for something that is in Pleasanton, and reasonably priced. Also serves breakfast and lunches. Sunshine Saloon has been fantastic choice, but the ladies are wanting to branch out. Any suggestions?

How wonderful. You all must have such a nice time.

I think Val's has a back room that could accommodate all of you. In all honesty, their food isn't my favorite, but it's decent and I have a feeling it's more about the company for all of you.

I have a feeling if you call ahead and do an early lunch that Eddie Papa's would accommodate you. They open at 11:00 on weekdays and have brunch on weekends if that might work. I quite enjoy their food and I've found the service outstanding. Their prices arent like Denny's but neither is their food. You can easily get a sandwich or many other entrees in the $10 range with good portions too.

Then there's Girasole for Italian food that has a good size back room that I have used for meetings and that I know they'd make available to accommodate you. They too open at 11:00 AM on weekdays. If you go there, start with a huge order of their scoozi bread. Oh my word. Entrees for lunch seem to be between $10 - $14, but with more than 18 people, they can set up more of a banquet for you and they won't charge for the room. Oh, and one more thing.... Girasole often offers their certificates on with huge savings. You'll want to check that out.

I hope this helps and I will keep thinking. It might be fun to rotate through different restaurants. Sounds like fun.

There is also zorn's but you'd want to check and see if they can accommodate you without breaking you up. They serve breakfast and lunch and I don't know of any item on the menu over $10. Little bit old school.

If I had to rank these four, it would be easy:

1). Eddie Papa's
2). Girasole
3). Val's
4). Zorn's.

I'd agree with both top choices. I might rank Girasole 1, and Eddie Papa's 2, but both are best choices of mid-range food, cost, and accommodations. I know Girasole will rake good care of you.

It depends how much money you have budgeted. If you want to go the inexpensive route, McDonald's has a lot of experience hosting large parties, especially birthday parties.

Val's is the burger joint in Hayward. I think Vic's would be a better option here in Pleasanton...

Girasole's meeting room is a perfect 25 fit. They go all out on serving that room. Their group catering is great too. They work hard
at focusing on Pleasanton clubs, groups, and parties.

Wow thanks everyone for your suggestions..
One question where is Val's in Pleasanton? Or do you mean Vics?
We have gone to Vic's and that is one of our options we have visited.
We will contact eddies papa when I get a sense of what the ladies are looking for in the way of a menu...thanks for that offer.
Girasole's a possibility, but a bit pricey and not a big variety on the menu.
Didn't know Cafe Main could hold a big group...will defiantly keep them in mind.
Once again thanks for all your imput, we have been meeting monthly for about 6 years! And we are growing!

Vic's all the way... great service, great options, great prices AND you can order from the children's menu for anyone who is not too hungry and they have a large serving for a child's menu.
