See for yourself...2016:Obama's America

Original post made by Paul, Vineyard Hills, on Aug 20, 2012

A new movie opened this past weekend at the Regal Cinemas in Dublin. Buy your tickets early because it sells out quickly! Curious how this has not received due media attention. Here's the press release...

SYNOPSIS
2016 Obama’s America takes audiences on a gripping visual journey into the heart of the world’s most powerful office to reveal the struggle of whether one man’s past will redefine America over the next four years. The film examines the question, “If Obama wins a second term, where will we be in 2016?”
Across the globe and in America, people in 2008 hungered for a leader who would unite and lift us from economic turmoil and war. True to America’s ideals, they invested their hope in a new kind of president, Barack Obama. What they didn’t know is that Obama is a man with a past, and in powerful ways that past defines him--who he is, how he thinks, and where he intends to take America and the world.
Immersed in exotic locales across four continents, best selling author Dinesh D’Souza races against time to find answers to Obama’s past and reveal where America will be in 2016. During this journey he discovers how Hope and Change became radically misunderstood, and identifies new flashpoints for hot wars in mankind’s greatest struggle. The journey moves quickly over the arc of the old colonial empires, into America’s empire of liberty, and we see the unfolding realignment of nations and the shape of the global future.
Emotionally engaging, 2016 Obama’s America will make you confounded and cheer as you discover the mysteries and answers to your greatest aspirations and worst fears

I was curious. I couldn't resist. I wanted air conditioning. What can I say? There were 4 people in the audience. Two of them looked like they'd need to take off their shoes in order to count to twenty.
D'Sousa's 15 minutes of fame was over many years ago. Even with Koch brothers' backing this film is quickly destined for trash heap of film making.

Typical leftist response to eliminate freedom of speech when alternatives are availble for balanced opinion.

Go see it yourself and you decide.

I don't know where Jurgen went to find that air conditioning...or at what time but it was sold out all weekend in Dublin...several confirmed this!

Don't allow the postings of naysayers prevent you from coming to your own objecive conclusions. See the movie.

I saw the movie and thought it quite well done. The movie theater was full or very close to it. I suggest everyone see it regardless of your opinion of Obama. An informed vote is a quality vote.

Sorry, fella, but I was there. If you were one of the two I referenced above, you have my apologies. As far as sell-outs go, you really aren't fooling anyone. Why do you have so much difficulty with the truth? Back to Weasel Zippers for you.

Oh boy, now Paul is going to drive from one computer terminal to the next using names like Liz who are all going to 'testify' about how good and well-attended the film is. Pathetic. Wouldn't your time be better spent out back cleaning out the spitoons?

Perhaps the movie's singlemost powerful points are that Obama may be Kenyan, that he probably wasn't born in the United States, that he has distant relatives (half-brother) living in Kenya, and that all the Obamas all over the world want to set up a Kenyan muslim socialist empire. This will come after Obama the dictator establishes himself as Supreme Leader after he cancels elections in 2016 and becomes President for Life. But don't believe me. Go see the movie. You won't believe it. Even the two toe-counters were giggling throughout.

Saw it on Saturday. Less than 30 others in the theater. Hoping for facts, walked away feeling ripped off by innuendo and half-baked theories.

You folks are so full of hate that you would rate elect a liar, no not Obama, Romney, rather than accept the real truth: the House Republicans stymied the economic growth by saying "No" to anything remotely Democratic.

Ryan is a hypocrite. Doesn't want the Stimulus package but has no problem applying twice for money.

Neighbor said: "Saw it on Saturday. Less than 30 others in the theater."

I'm a bit surprised that there were even 30 people in the theater. Unless the the movie has some amazing new revelations, I can't think of many people who would want to spend a nice weekend afternoon watching a political documentary.

I understand the film maker interviewed some of Obama's cousins in Kenya. Oh, and one of Obama's teachers was once a communist. Did he bother to interview the many presumed teachers of Obama who were not communist?

Heck, I'm a product of Catholic schools and most of the nuns I had were communists! (Not many had cousins in Kenya, though). Sounds like a big fishing expedition that didn't find much at all. Yawn.

wow reading some of these comments does not fit my observation re: movie content nor the number of people that attended.

The theater was almost full (Actually this was to my surprise) when I went (51 yr old female, divorced, independent, leans right. I went w/ some work friends.

Demographics were all over the place...older folks maybe in their 60' or ? older...Then some 40-50 yr age group(my estimation on age) and then some 30ty somethings. Looked like some high schoolers were there too...I'd say late teens who maybe accompanied parents???

I suspect most who have commented did not see the movie based on the tone of the comments.

And I also suspect Bernie did not attend Catholic schools. Sounds like he is "fishing" for some good old Catholic bashing...very acceptable to do these days. Happy Feast Day Bernie. Today, if you did not know, or perhaps forgot, is the feast day of St Bernard.

Amazing. Thousand people saw a guy running down Main Street nakin'd.

Thousand people said "no, he was NOT nakin'd."

Who to believe??

The most that would NOT benefit.
(I know, little complex but do think about it)

There were, roughly, 30+- in the audience that night.

Hate breeds illusion.

liberalism is a disease is a registered user.

Now's a fine to finally vet obama. To quote a fine, upstanding dem politician from a few years ago: "The nature of the evidence is irrelevant; it's the seriousness of the charge that matters."

Michael Moore makes a 90 minute propaganda piece and all of Hollywood has a virtual orgasm.

Dinesh S'Souza makes an honest attempt to unveil some of the mysteries behind the Obama-ization of this country over the past 4 years and he is deemed a heretic.

Go figger?

I was truly amused at the posts here by left-wing loons. What a bunch of ignorant dolts! There's no other description thats a better fit - ignorant dolts. Perhaps this is what happens to those that smoke pot from age 13, then migrated to the really mind alterting stuff, were raised by disengaged parents (many potheads themselves), and get their news from The Comedy Channel. Californicators are a miserable lot.

So let me get this straight. We elect a one term senator from Chicago with virtually no experience on the international stage, who has never worked in the private sector, has had a few "questionable" but never proven associations with some semi-radicals, neo-socialists and other just slightly left-of-center individuals over the past 15ish years. And just because he is trying to bring about the single most monumental change in government run and controlled infrastructure in the history of the US people are trying to make some kind of big deal over it.

We have to trust our Dear Leader and his infinite wisdom because only the chosen one can truly save this country.

The really scary thing...40+% of people in this country actually believe every word of it.

being fiercely independent myself, I do find it curious that those who identify with the liberal community cry out for the others in society to be tolerant, and listen to other opinions. However when someone voices an opinion that does not fit their image of truth, they become angry, nasty, and fankly, overtly hostile toward the opposition. It is very noticable that the opposition voices their postition without a lot of sophomoric insult. The liberals seem to engage in isult, and demeaning rhetoric. Sort of makes me wonder who among us might need shoe removal for counting beyond ten. The film may or may not be worthy of admission. What is not worthy of attention is the clearly unintelligent ramblings of the narrow minded.

Bubbling under the Top 10 at number 13, the anti-Obama documentary 2016 Obama's America expanded from 61 theaters into 169 locations, and increased its gross by 294 percent to $1.25 million. Tellingly, the film's per theater average increased from $5,202 to $7,391 this weekend, a rare feat at the box office — but especially when a film's theater count nearly triples. 2016 Obama's America has grossed $2.1 million in six weeks, and if it maintains this sort of momentum, it could become a major sleeper hit. Keep an eye on it.

Surging popularity in the anti-Obama movie "2016: Obama's America" has dramatically boosted the number of theaters showing it, making the film the second biggest money-maker per-theater behind the the "Expendables 2," the nation's No. 1 flick.

Having opened last month in just a single Texas theater and facing complaints from the president's supporters, the "2016: Obama's America" was shown in 169 theaters last weekend is slated to be in 800 this weekend, producers tell Secrets.

Just as shocking: Over the weekend it earned $7,391 per theater, topping huge hits like "The Dark Knight Rises," "The Bourne Legacy," and "The Campaign." Last weekend, it earned $1,249,000, a 293 percent one-week surge. "Expendables 2" earned $8,670 per theater, tops in the country. What's more: It was the 13th overall money maker last week, following a movie that was showing in over 1,100 theaters.

Might someone be kind enough to offer one significant fact that the movie offers, pro-Obama or otherwise, that hasn't already been known or "known"? Does it reveal Obama's tax records? Does it reveal what the Mormon Church does with Obama's donations, including tens of millions directed against gays, against gay marriage, against women's right to an abortion, and other progressive causes? Does the film disclose all of Obama's offshore bank accounts and investments that support foreign over US labor?

What, beyond the claim that one of Obama's teachers was a communist, (I've counted no less than 6 nuns who were professedly communist in the grade school I attended), is there anything that is revealed or that is truly indicting. Or is this yet another attempt by the right to lather up its professional wrestling fans?

(St. Bernard, my namesake, turns out to have been a bit of a militant zealot who would steal peasant children from villages in order to "man" his crusades to the middle east. At the same time, it might be worth mentioning that Bernard himself, as head of a Cistercian monastic order located in Clairvoux, was an avowed communist, as is true with virtually any reading of the words and practices of Jesus Christ. Yes, Jesus Christ was also a dirty communist.)

Lot of spinning going on here. First of all, "Obama's America" is not the second biggest money maker per theater behind the "Expendables 2". The honor of second place actually goes to a movie called "Ek Tha Tiger". The movie "Obama's America" was indeed the 13th overall money maker last week, though, following a movie called "Ted" that was shown in over 1100 theaters. "Obama's America" was in turn followed by the movie "Ek Tha Tiger", which actually earned more per theater than "Obama's America" ($9,495 per theater versus $7,365).

Bottom line is that revenue-wise the movie "Obama's America" is in the same league as the obscure Indian kung-fu action movie "Ek Tha Tiger".

So that IS all that the movie talks about? Watch how fast I don't cough up $12 for recycled conspiracy propaganda. Thanks for the heads-up, "All of it." Maybe if they made it a double feature with Palin's "Undefeated" and threw in a newsreel of Trump's birther nonsense it would at least have the appeal of a three-ring circus.

Hey "dude" I wouldn't expect you to cough up $12 for anything, unless someone else is paying for it...

my favorite part is Obama's brother trashing his policies from his hut in Kenya ... sad part is Obama's brother this week called D'Souza (Director/writer of the film) for help when Obama's nephew needed $ for emergency surgery ... couldn't get help from his Big Deal brother ... Obama is my kind of guy.... vote for him

An anti-Barack Obama documentary based on conservative author Dinesh D’Souza’s book The Roots of Obama’s Rage will expand nationwide this weekend after doing notable business in select markets across the country -- including in liberal-minded New York City.

On Friday, Obama's America, co-directed by D'Souza and John Sullivan, will be playing in 1,075 theaters in an aggressive expansion that comes on the eve of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., which gets underway Aug. 27.

So, I guess no one wants to respond to my question about whether there's anything new in the film. Lots of name-calling, but obviously there's nothing there except hashed over vetting done by the hayseed contingent of the republican party.

Don't quite understand how calling Jesus Christ's teachings and practices is bigoted. Does someone mean to suggest he was a capitalist?

LOL Bernie you must be so dumb I bet you're a socialist haha!

Just kidding. I just wanted to see what it was like trying to "debate" using these teabaggers' tactics.

So no, it appears that, despite our questions, there are no actual revelations in the film. Weird that the only responses are childish taunts or cut-and-paste film reviews instead of answers. Advertising bots, maybe,or paid shills? Or is it that fans of this "film" don't have the mental skills to articulate a coherent response?

Yeah, your communist mother wears made in socialist russian army boots.

I think, Some Dude, that you're right on all counts. When most of the tea party crowd needs to take off their shoes to count to twenty, it's a pretty safe bet they have nothing much to say except -- "Go see this film, and if you don't you're a socialist." What always amuses me is how they seem to be too dumb to feel any embarrassment after being exposed day in and day out.

Well, Well Well ... I've managed to scare a couple of "libs" out of the woodwork, not hard to do by the way ... although I do have to catch them when they take a breath after extricating their heads from their rear ends...

The film is 90 minutes of FACTS ... but you guys don't care ... here are some great quotes from a review of the film that describe you guys to a tee

"How could one so-highly educated and intelligent as Obama not know what he was doing when he incurred such debt? I left the movie thinking more strongly than I had in the past that the current debt and this economy was part of Obama’s plan all along. Increasingly making Americans dependent on the government is the plan. What’s more, he knew his blind followers would believe it was not the plan and, of course, was all Bush’s fault.

He must be laughing at his blind followers all the way to the “new America” they’re allowing him to create. My belief is that Obama continues to prey on his die-hard followers’ stupidity to accomplish his personal goals for America.

The most disturbing part of the film to me was the interview with President Obama’s half-brother George Obama from Nairobi, Kenya. How can Obama claim to want to help people when he has done absolutely nothing for his own family? It makes me wonder if he really cares about anybody if he can’t find it in his heart to help his own family...

Those who have already decided to vote for Obama will probably not even see the movie. It’s sad but they probably don’t want to know the truth when it is laid out so clearly for them in this documentary..."

"To watch this movie and realize – or simply be reminded of – all that is unknown about President Obama is of concern. Much of the information has been ignored by the American media totally. When appropriately reminded as to what is still unknown about Obama to date, one has to ask: How can any logical-thinking person give a damn about Romney’s taxes while not asking any questions regarding our current president’s past?

The man influences the entire globe, but liberal Americans want to know how much Mitt Romney paid in taxes in the past rather than learn about the man who they have entrusted with the country. Unbelievable."

Okay, I confess it is kind of a new factoid that Obama didn't send money to some guy in Nairobi. Ayn Rand and Paul Ryan would probably approve. I'm sure "All of it" or "Full of it" or whatever probably routinely sends money to people in Nigeria who email him with offers of great riches, so long as he sends them his credit card number. Says more about "Full of it" than it does about Obama, though.

P.S. Here's a great investment tip for ya, "Full of it": Zeek Rewards. I suggest you invest heavily!

Well, given the comments from the film's supporters, there doesn't appear to be much beyond what Sarah Palin was spewing to her racist crowds back in 2008. Once you've seen one klan rally I guess you've seen them all.

What kind of a delusional bubble must someone be in to convert an inability to answer a basic question like "what new facts does the film present" into the belief that he's scaring liberals out of the woodwork?

Next they're going to say Jesus wasn't a capitalist because Adam Smith hadn't been born yet.

LOL! What? A "bleeding-heart" conservative? Well, now I've seen everything.

I'll bet if President Obama were sending thousands upon thousands of dollars to distant relatives in Kenya you conservatives would not be praising his actions. No, instead you would be pointing your fingers at him saying that the action proves that he's not a real American, that he's more sympathetic to the plight of poor Kenyans than to the plight of poor Americans. "Heads" he loses, and "Tails" he loses. You're guaranteed to find some way to condemn whatever he does.
