Is this supposed to be public knowledge? Can this be published without parents' permission?

Wow! Congratulations to all who have succeeded in completing high school. It's not easy getting through all of the academic and social aspects of this time of your life. I hope you all go on to lead happy successful lives.

Best wishes to the class of 2012.

Does anyone know about the Pleasanton prank that excluded many students from graduation?

Ryan, are you perhaps thinking of Heritage High School in Brentwood, where this has just happened?

Parents have protested loudly, in the media and right up to the Contra Costa Superior Court. But - rather impressively - the principal, the superintendent and a judge have thus far all stood firm on enforcement of the clearly pre-stated consequences for any senior "pranks".

Heard that some seniors were not permitted to particpate in graduation at Foothill because of a senior prank. allegedly, they parked their cars sideways in tne parking lot, blocking multiple spaces. I don't know how much is true? Maybe someone else knows

Srs at FHS that participated in the "prank" by parking cars sideways, etc. were told to move their cars first thing in the morning. If they did not, they would not be able to walk. All moved their cars! The Brentwood prank was a little different - sounded like outright vandalism to me.

I heard there was a massive food fight that got many seniors banned from the ceremony. I hope my intel was wrong and no seniors were banned at either school.

Brentwood was footprints in washable paint and leaving a lamb tied and unharmed on campus. Sounded like an overreaction to me.

Heard that Foothill canceled the Senior Awards night. This was the highlight of my daughters' High School careers. They won a lot of awards and this was the culmination. It is very sad that the students have to forgo all this before the Administrators take cuts in their pay and perks. Wonder where all this is heading.

I totally understand the need for privacy as just about every cell phone has a built in camera these days. But what does it matter that the names of the graduates were published online? I was proud when my kid's names were revealed and did not feel as though any of my parental rights were violated. The need for parental permission, really? Local newspapers have published this information for decades. One must think before one posts. Thank goodness the drug dog initiative finally passed here in town for our local high schools. I was agahst at the opposition it faced. Let's focus on the real issues and not worry about high school graduate name publishing. I for one, have published my name here and I too am a "concerned parent."

Really canceling senior awards before Administrator's pay cuts? You must not know much about how a school runs. Money for classes and education before your little Pleasanton darlin gets yet another pat on the back. When there is no money there is no money. But wait its Foothill. As for not letting them walk for a "prank" how far are you getting to let the little darlin's go with their pranks? Pranks like paint cost money. Actions have consequences.
