Steve, I have seen other campaign signs posted illegally here-and-there, most of which have largely been removed. However, David Harmer is the only one I have seen posting 6-foot-wide billboard-style signs illegally and repeatedly. You'll note that there are no other signs posted on 680. Mr Harmer has three huge, ugly signs in a half-mile stretch. Hmm.

And you are justifying his transgressions with someone else's behavior? What happened to Tea Party morals and self-responsibility? Like I said, those values only seem to apply to everyone else.

The signs were not posted illegally...all the other campaign signs that were posted in the same corner locations are still there. Perhaps this is the work of the same "tolerant" liberals who had a field day with taking down the Proposition 8 signs...just a thought...

Bernal and Stanley and Bernal and Nevada may be privately owned land. Campaign managers need to get permission from the owners' to put up signs. Perhaps the Harmer's supporters put them up thinking that it was free game, as the other signs were up there, and the owner took them down. There are a number of areas like that in Pleasanton.

The fences next to 680 and the Bernal-680 onramp are most certainly not private land. For a candidate and a group that is so self-righteous, I would think they'd make a more sincere attempt to play by the rules.

They preach nothing but hate and division and should all go back and read the New Testament and teaching of Jesus one more time. The Grace of God has somehow gone right over their head, they missed the passage "Judge not, or you shall be judged. And one of their candidate's past forces her to start her latest campaign commercial with "I am not a witch!". If they gain control of the leadership of this country I just might go to Europe!

We have an archaic and inhumane healthcare system, decaying infrastructure, and human rights and freedoms of religion (previously the envy of the world) that have fallen behind modern standards. I'm not saying free market is perfect, I never liked that the banks and lenders were giving money so freely, yet I was put through the ringer when I applied for a loan. Those banks DESERVED to fail - yet they are still here poised, waiting for the timing that allows them to do it again.

Why do you balk at a 2% tax increase, but think nothing of your employer paying $15,000/year for your family's healthcare plan? That's not free money, my dear Tea Partiers.

I just don't get this government=bad, private company=good thing. Public health plans in most countries are really quite good, especially considering how inexpensive they are, relative to ours. Just because the payment is called a "tax" instead of an "insurance premium" does not make it inherently worse.

By the way, last I looked, David Harmer's illegal signs are still hanging all alone on 680. I called his campaign office twice this week to complain. Typical Tea Partier--talks high morals and values, while doing just the opposite.

Our fine Congressman Jerry McNerney is running a very clean and proper campaign and correctly deserves our votes and support. We need to keep Jerry working for us all in Washington D.C.

Replace McNerny... with what? Another extreme? Replacing McNerny is not a reason to vote for Harmer! America hasn't wised up that this constant swinging back and forth between extremes is bad for business. Americans were tired of Bush so they voted in Obama. In my opinion, if you don't like what a politician has done, you have an obligation to give someone else a shot at it. Harmer is by no means extreme. He's conservative, but not extreme. If we don't like what he does, then it's someone else's turn in 2 years. Good people don't run for office often enough because of the huge advantage incumbants have. I think the best thing about this campaign season is that we are slowing chipping away at that advantage.

If you like Nancy Pelosi, you should vote for McNerney because he votes with her over 95% of the time. (He claims to be moderate, but I don't consider that moderate.) If you don't like Pelosi, you should give Harmer a chance.

We gave the GOP and Harmer policies a chance and they proved beyond any doubt to be a total failure. We are not stupid and will not return to GOP policies. We have to thank Jerry McNerney and Pres Obama for leading us all out of the Great Bush/GOP recession. We now have again a growing economy. It would be growing much faster for us all if we did not have the GOP party of no getting in all of our ways. We will never forget how the GOP ruined our economy and how that were not part of the solutions.

Instead of stating he is a democrat, he keeps touting that he is a moderate. Why did he slither into Oakland to hook up with Joe at a private fundraising event? Why doesn't he take David up on the other debates instead of just agreeing to one that was closed to the public and put on public television? Steve, yes, by nearly all meaningful economic measures, the economy is growing and has improved substantially in the past 18 months. Statistic after statistic, and chart after chart, show that. Yes, things are still really bad, especially employment--we were in a VERY deep hole. But yes, since the current administration took office, all trends have been for the better. Sorry to disappoint you.

Keep voting no to all change, make the party look bad, make people angry at the party, vote in the opposite party, try to make changes (many the same policies) so your party can take the credit, opposite party votes it down.....it's an endless cycle that all seems to revolve around this need to be "the winner".

I wonder why McNerney has not removed his 2 8x4 foot signs along 580 and another along Highway 99 toward Modesto? I noticed them both there yesterday, Monday, Dec.,13th..It seems he is just as bad in not properly removing the eye sores too!
