  1. The glorification of pirates needs to end. These were and still are largely a part of the Islamic (Muslim) terrorism. I have read that this was the reason that Thomas Jefferson had a copy of the Koran–the U.S. was forced to pay ransom $$ to these beasts because we had little in the way of a Navy. Piracy was then, and still is a major threat to commerce. These pirates are a vicious lot, not unlike their Islamic brothers who are so busy now with hostage taking and blowing up innocent people wherever they can. If you are a parent, don’t buy pirate items for your kids. If their teacher wants to do a lesson romanticizing these horrible individuals, contact them and provide a little education along with your request that they pick a different topic.
