Seeking to Form A Women's Group

Original post made by Pat, West of Foothill, on Jan 19, 2010

I've been wanting to form a casual women's group that can meet once a month or every other week at a member's home in Pleasanton (on a rotating basis) to chat, have tea/coffee, network, discuss current issues/affairs, OR we can pay bridge or some other game. This is not a book club - but other ideas are encouraged.

This would be informal, fun, and bring more women together who have the same interests, who can learn from others' interest, etc. The more diverse, the better it will be.

Tell me what you think -- how this type of thing is done; if you've done it before.

Send your ideas, interest level, etc. to this email which I set up just for this purpose: meetforfunfoodchats@gmail.com

I hope this works! Cheers,

Pat from West of Foothill, Pleasanton

OK, then, I'll be the first one to join! Come on ladies, any empty nesters out there? Any Pleasanton housewives, don't need to be desparate (lol)...

Hi Pat,

I encourage you to check out meetup.com. There are already a few women's groups here in the Tri-Valley area. If you go too www.meetup.com, just click on "Find a Meetup" then enter your zip code and within what mileage radius. The website is designed for this sort of thing - to meet friends, form groups, etc.

I joined a "mom's group" by using this site and have made some great friends. Let me know what you think! I hope this helps!

Our women's group is well on her way!!! We have about 7 members and have already had some fun getting to know each other over afternoon tea, margaritas, and we look forward to more fun at our next scheduled event.
