When I look at the candidates seeking Pleasanton's vacant city council seat, one name stands out: Kathy Narum. We served on the Parks and Recreation Commission together with the intent of making Pleasanton topnotch not only for our citizens but also for the many sports teams that would utilize them over the years. Kathy was the one who not only helped highlight the need to renovate the athletic fields at Amador Valley Community Park but she also worked to get the project funded and eventually completed. Her same efforts with the development and completion of Val Vista Park followed.
Her knowledge of every neighborhood in Pleasanton, her interest in Pleasanton's parks, trails and open space along with her knowledge of other Pleasanton issues -- financial stability and responsible growth among them -- say we should elect Kathy Narum to Pleasanton City Council.
