Absolutely. I have a particular perfume that I wore many years ago while I was pregnant with my oldest son. The bottle is empty now, but I save it and take a whiff of it occasionally because when I smell that scent it reminds me of my son.
I don't really associate good smells with people. But I definitely associate them with other things. For example, I'm a runner, and I appreciate all of the good smells of the various seasons whenever I go out for a run. Right now I'm enjoying all of the great spring smells every time I go out running.
I have a favorite smell but it has more to do with the time of my life than it has to do with a person. I love the smell of pencil shavings when you manually sharpen a pencil. It reminds me of my childhood, when the only things I had to worry about were when recess was, what was in my lunch and what sports I wanted to play or watch.
I love the smell of Crayola crayons because it reminds me of my mother. She used to sit and color with me when I was a child, and I have such fond memories of those times we spent together.
I love the smell of bleach because it reminds me of my dad. Every morning, we clean our wrestling mats with a solution of bleach and water. He is my wrestling coach, and I feel like our daily routine gives me the best start to every day.
