Eligible applicants include incoming Pleasanton high school juniors and seniors who enjoy writing, inspiring others, and are interested in contributing to their community.
The teen poet laureate is a volunteer post for one academic year. In the past, the teen poets have led the following projects:
? Poetry readings on campus
? Assisting teachers with poetry programs
? Open mic events
? Pop-up poetry at the Pleasanton Public Library
? Poems set to music by the High School Music Collaborative.
Prospective candidates can apply online at www.firehousearts.org/teenpoet/. The deadline is 5 p.m. April 30.
Applicants will be asked to participate in a brief Zoom interview between May 3 and 13.
