Cristiano named honorary president of Pleasanton real estate firm

Holds 'Realtor of the Year' plus 'Leadership' awards

Janet Cristiano has been named honorary president of Better Homes and Gardens Mason-McDuffie Real Estate.

Cristiano is broker/owner of Better Homes and Gardens Tri-Valley Realty, with offices in Pleasanton and Livermore.

"Janet is one of the great real estate leaders in the Tri-Valley," said Ed Krafchow, CEO and chairman of the company.

"With a business partnership that spans more than 17 years, I have seen first-hand the high integrity she exhibits with agents and clients," he added. "I look forward to partnering with Janet for many years to come."

Cristiano started her career in 1974, obtaining her broker's license in 1977. She is a past president of the Bay East Association of Realtors and has earned numerous professional designations.

She was selected as "Realtor of the Year" by the Association of Realtors and for two consecutive years received the "Leadership Award" by the association in recognition of her extensive community activities and involvement.

She also is an arbitrator and mediator for the California Association of Realtors, regularly serves as an instructor for new and experienced sales associates, and has taught real estate classes at the community college level. She operated a professional tax practice for more than 20 years and is a Certified Financial Planner.

She lives in Pleasanton with her husband, Joe. They have six children and seven grandchildren, all living in the Tri-Valley area.
