Looking for ways to “go green”?

The city of Pleasanton and Hacienda Business Park will present a free Green Scene Fair for local employees and residents from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the CarrAmerica Conference Center.

This comprehensive Green Scene Fair will feature about 75 different vendors specializing in green practices in six main categories: air, water, waste, commuting and transportation, healthy homes and healthy Living, and energy.

Vendors will provide demonstrations and information on green building and landscape design, solar power and energy conservation, waste reduction and recycling, water conservation, financial incentives, and more. Representatives from various green businesses and agencies will be on hand to provide answers to questions and information.

A treasure hunt and raffle of green-related prizes will contribute to the fun of the event, which will also feature a display of fuel efficient vehicles and demonstration buses from the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (Wheels). Sustainably produced food will also be available for purchase.

The Green Scene Fair is the first in a series of activities and events that will be folded into Pleasanton’s climate action plan for the entire community. It will serve as a roadmap to reduce the carbon footprint of the collective community that includes both residents and employees who work in Pleasanton. The CarrAmerica Conference Center is located at 4400 Rosewood Drive in Pleasanton.
