'Record-breaking year' for Tri-Valley Turkey Burn

Despite near-freezing temperatures, the 2019 Tri-Valley Turkey Burn drew record participation on Thanksgiving Day morning for a 5K/10K family fun run, walk and stroll in Pleasanton's Ken Mercer Sports Park.

Nearly 2,000 participants turned out for the annual Turkey Burn in support of Pleasanton North Rotary Club and its foundation.

"It was a record-breaking year," said Michael Cherman, chair of the Turkey Burn Organizing Committee. "The Turkey Burn is a one-of-kind event here in the Tri-Valley, a chance for friends and families to get together to have a little fun and burn off some calories before the big feasts later in the day."
