State's Electoral College members to vote today

All Democrats, electors expected to choose Clinton, Kaine

California’s 55 Democratic members of the Electoral College will gather in Sacramento Monday to cast their votes for president and vice president.

California has the nation’s largest Electoral College delegation, and electors are selected by Senator Dianne Feinstein and Senator-elect Kamala Harris and the top Democratic congressional finishers in the June primary.

Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine won the California presidential vote on November 8 over Donald Trump and Mike Pence with 62.3% of the vote to 31.9%, the largest margin of victory since 1936.

California awards its Electoral College votes on a winner-take-all basis.

Each state’s electoral votes will be counted in a joint session of Congress on Jan. 6.
