4 Foothill cheer squads going to nationals

Falcons earn 3 wins, 1 second-place finish at regionals

The four Foothill High School competition cheer teams secured spots in nationals next March as a result of their strong finishes in the USA Regional Competition in American Canyon on Nov. 13.

The varsity, junior varsity and group stunt team No. 1 all won their respective divisions while group stunt team No. 2 took second place to also earn a nationals berth.

The varsity team consists of Lizzie Beer, Sara Ling, Jessica Cole, Sophia Ondi, Chloe Chai, Emily LaDue, Kimberly Wang, Michelle Cyr, Rachel Sanchez, Sophia Barletta, Gali Hoffman, Tori Maes, Amanda Zagar, Hannah Thoe, Claire Larsen and Annie Fenton, with coaches Kim DeJoy and Sarina DeJoy.

The JV team features Melissa Garcia, Kylie Maeda, Julia Castaneda, Sarah Wong, Kennedy Banks, Caeli Hurst, Brenna Kennedy, Chloe Tolari, Sofia Ricker, Karyna Russo, Brianna Raphael, Ellie Reding, Amanda Mero and Robin Salter, with coaches Kelly Redgrave and Jennifer Gatan.

The group stunt teams include Lizzie Beer, Sara Ling, Sophia Ondi, Emily LaDue, Sophia Barletta, Tori Maes, Amanda Zagar, Michelle Cyr, Jessica Cole and Claire Larsen, with coaches Kim DeJoy and Sarina DeJoy.
