Rotary's 2nd annual Tri-Valley Turkey Burn set for tomorrow morning

Thanksgiving Day program starts at 8 a.m., well before families sit down for turkey dinner

Thanksgiving means it’s time to be thankful. What better way to spend your Thanksgiving morning than spending time with friends and family, getting outdoors and exercising, and supporting community youth programs.

Pleasanton's North Rotary Club's Foundation is sponsoring its annual Turkey Burn exercise program starting at 9 a.m. Thursday at Ken Mercer Sports Park, with registration open at 8 a.m.

"Last year was amazing," club officers said, "with more than 500 participants. This second annual event will be even more successful with the help of you, your friends and family."

Last year’s donations resulted in Pleasanton North Rotary Foundation providing food for those in need, and for funds to support its local youth. All of the proceeds go to the PNR Foundation and directly to scholarships, leadership camps, international youth exchange student programs and student of the month recognition.

Registration for the event is now open at

This is a fantastic hometown event and I highly recommend it. Had so much fun last year. New local family tradition for a great cause!
