Take Us Along: 108th birthday

Longtime Pleasanton residents Don and Frances Hewitt traveled to Sheffield, Ill., on Oct. 16 to celebrate the 108th birthday of Don's grandmother, Blanche Hewitt (shown in this Take Us Along reading up on the Pleasanton city election candidates in a recent Weekly).

"At 108, she gets around with the help of her walker and continues to entertain us with her jokes and stories," Frances said.

The Hewitts are ready for another milestone birthday this weekend, with Don's father Conrad Hewitt set to celebrate his 80th in Napa.
