Livermore victim in head-on crash identified

Vehicle crosses median on First Street in Livermore, hits victim's car

A driver who died in a head-on collision in Livermore on Monday morning has been identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau as 72-year-old Leeann Tagliapietra of Dublin.

The collision occurred at about 6 a.m. Monday on First Street south of Las Positas Road.

Investigators said a vehicle traveling north on First Street crossed over the raised center median and hit Tagliapietra's vehicle, which was traveling south.

Tagliapietra was critically injured and later died at a hospital.

The driver of the northbound vehicle was also hospitalized but police haven't provided information about the extent of the driver's injuries.

Investigators believe a third vehicle may also have been involved in the collision and are seeking the driver, who would have been also traveling south.

Anyone with information about the crash, which blocked First Street in both directions for several hours, is encouraged to call the Police Department's traffic unit at (925) 371-4847.
