About 1,100 Pleasanton high school students will graduate this week as eighth graders finish middle school to take their place as high school freshmen.

Village High School’s graduation ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Amador Theater.

Foothill High’s graduation ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. Friday and Amador Valley’s ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at the respective schools.

Promotion ceremonies for eighth grade students will be held Thursday. Hart Middle School’s ceremony will take place at 5 p.m., and Harvest Park and Pleasanton middle schools’ ceremonies will be at 6 p.m. at those schools.

  1. When the decision was made to stop holding the ceremonies at the fairgrounds, I believe the reason given was that it was to save costs. Renting the fairground was very expensive.
