Record-setting Hike for Hope

$106,000+ donated during Hope Hospice fundraiser this spring

Hope Hospice's Hike for Hope set a new fundraising record with more than $106,000 in cash and in-kind donations contributed during the nonprofit's sixth annual event held April 30 at Del Valle Regional Park.

More than 650 hikers registered to support Hope Hospice, remember loved ones and enjoy the outdoors during this year's event.

"The Hike for Hope celebrates the joy our loved ones brought us and raises funds for Hope Hospice," said Melanie Ridley, co-chair of the Hike for Hope committee and member of Hope Hospice's Board of Directors. "We all enjoyed meeting the hikers who came to support Hope Hospice and to talk to the families whom we have helped."

All of the hike's net proceeds will be used to care for the more than 2,600 area residents Hope Hospice supports each year with end-of-life services and education, Hope Hospice officials said.
