It's 'Bike to Work' day in Pleasanton

Join the hundreds of cycling commuters on this year's special day at energizer stations throughout town

Tune up those brakes and grab your helmet, the 22nd annual Bike to Work Day is today.

Cyclists in Pleasanton are heading to work -- and school -- Thursday morning as part of the event, which aims to encourage two-wheeled commuters.

Bicyclists can stop by "energizer" stations located around the city to grab free snacks, water and other items such as a canvas bag filled with goodies.

Energizer Station sponsors include Alameda County Public Works Agency, Alameda County Safe Routes to School, BART, the cities of Pleasanton and Dublin, Hacienda, Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority, ClubSport Pleasanton, Dublin Cyclery, REI Dublin, New Leaf Community Market, Veeva Systems, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, My Buddy Bike Shop and Foothill High School.

Here are the Energizer station locations:

East Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station 6:30 - 9 a.m.

West Dublin Pleasanton BART Station 7:00 - 9 a.m.

Stanley Blvd @ Shadow Cliffs 7 - 9 a.m.

Lawrence Livermore National Lab, Vasco Rd & East Ave 6:15 - 9 a.m.

My Buddy's Bike Shop, 1601 Railroad Ave, Livermore

7 - 9 a.m.

All stations will have free bike bags, while supplies last and refreshments for bicyclists.

We can't do it without you.
