Pleasanton girls win futsal soccer title

The Pleasanton Rage Orange 2 team won the San Ramon Futsal League under-11 girls championship earlier this month, taking down Mustang Soccer Chics in the title match 3-1.

"The girls showed great resolve throughout the entire season with a 7-0-1 overall record. Our team played attractive, attacking futsal that led to numerous opportunities on goal," team parent Michelle Lemus said.

Futsal is a brand of soccer played on a smaller field, typically indoors, with teams using five players each. The top scorers for Rage Orange 2 during the 2015-16 season were Sharanika Rajsekar, Paige Morgan, Zareena Mann, Kaitlyn Lemus and Brooke Walker. Other team members were Alexis Morando, Nishita Pinninty and Alyssa Villarde.
