Community meeting set for Wednesday to get opinions on school superintendent search

Firm looking for community's thoughts on qualities of a good schools leader

In order to determine what characteristics the community would like to see when picking Pleasanton Unified School District's new superintendent, the district will hold a final community forum at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, in the school district's board room at 4665 Bernal Ave.

The forum, the last of five being held by search firm McPherson & Jacobson LLC, will include discussions about the abstract qualities community members most expect from the new school leader.

Translation services will be provided in Spanish and Mandarin upon request, which can be done by calling the superintendent's office at 426-4333.

A paper survey that will be handed out at the meeting that will also be offered in simplified Chinese and Spanish, as well as other translations upon request.

The search firm , which has been facilitating the hunt for a new superintendent since last fall, will lead the meeting.

More selective meetings are expected to take place later in the process, and several advisory committees made up of teachers, classified staff and other community members are expected to be established in the coming weeks by the school board.
