DSRSD board also fills out committee appointments for 2016

Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) board of directors Wednesday selected a new president and vice president for 2016.

D.L. Howard was selected as president after serving as vice president, and Richard Halket was selected as vice president at the Dec. 16 public meeting. Howard succeeded Edward Duarte.

The water and wastewater retailer's board also settled annual appointments for its water, finance and external affairs committees, as well as appointments to regional water boards.

Howard and Duarte will serve on the district's Water Resources Committee, Halket and Madelyne Misheloff will serve on the Finance and Personnel Committee and Halket and Georgean Vonheeder-Leopold will serve on the External Affairs Committee.

Howard and Vonheeder-Leopold will serve as delegates to the board of the DSRSD-East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) Recycled Water Authority (DERWA) Joint Powers Authority, which produces and distributes recycled water for commercial irrigation in area of the Tri-Valley.

Duarte and Misheloff will serve as district delegates to the board of the Livermore-Amador Valley Water Management Agency (LAVWMA) Joint Powers Authority, which oversees the pipeline that sends treated wastewater from member agencies' treatments plants to the San Francisco Bay.

DSRSD provides wastewater to Pleasanton on contract, as well as water and wastewater services to Dublin, San Ramon and parts of the Dougherty Valley.
