14 named to serve on key city committees, commissions

Volunteers will advise City Council on municipal issues

Fourteen volunteers have been appointed to serve on six Pleasanton committees and commissions that serve as advisory groups to the City Council.

Named to the Economic Vitality Committee were Ellen Pensky McGraw, from a commercial services firm; Sylvia Tian, a residential real estate builder and developer, and William Doerlich and Esther Yu, both Realtors.

Appointed to the Civic Arts Commission were Jay Doraiswami as a full member and John Orenberg, as an alternate member.

In addition, Jay Galvin and Michelle Meyers were named members of the Housing Commission, with Matthew Gaidos appointed as an alternate member.

Joining the Human Services Commission are Meera Parikh as a full member and Mike Sedlak as an alternate.

Appointed to serve on the Library Commission were Michaela Hertle, as a member, and Harinder Grewal as an alternate.

Karyna Russo, a middle school student, was appointed to serve on the city's Youth Commission.

Looks like progrowth realtors and developers are taking over the city commissions and committees. Any appointees from Ponderosa or Greenbriar, or just people making money off more house sales and more people in town?
