I am not a member of Centerpointe, but did attend this church when it met at Neal and Second.

Centerpointe was for many decades part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) [PC(USA)] (the largest Presbyterian denomination). Other, more conservative Presbyterian denominations are considerably smaller in number of members.

More recently (since 2012 or earlier), this church has been moving toward "dismissal" from the local branch of PC(USA), "San Francisco Presbytery".

In February 2015 a motion was brought forward to San Francisco Presbytery change their affiliation to the more conservative "ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians". I believe that motion was approved in 2015. The PC(USA) departure from Biblical Truth seems to be a major faction in consideration of denominational change.

Groups of the faithful depart for numerous reasons. There's no reason to accept one reason such as: "departure from Biblical Truth".

Please prove your point "Denomination". Do you have concrete proof?

There are many biblical scholars who disagree with your assertion.

Cholo - I think you misunderstood Denomination's factual account of Centerpointe's denominational change. The departure from Biblical Truth is the reason for Centerpointe's change, but is not necessarily the reason behind any one individual's decision to change denomination.

Have a Merry Christmas!
