Vacancies down, new construction ahead in Pleasanton's Hacienda community

Business park now home to 650 companies plus apartments, homes for 4,300 residents

Hacienda has seen an increase in occupancy over the year with a corresponding growth in tenant activity, a trend that is expected top continue into 2016.

"Vacancy declines are continuing at the same steady rate that has occurred over the last few years," said James Paxson, Hacienda's general manager.

"Furthermore, in addition to the substantial investment being made in existing facilities, new project activity is strong and new facilities will commence construction in Hacienda before the end of the year," he added. "This means that, in addition to increasing the occupancy of our existing base, we expect to expand our base of occupancy as well."

A summary of major business activity follows:

Veeva Systems/HighPoint Solutions

Veeva Systems and HighPoint Solutions are expanding their partnership to bring Veeva Network Customer Master to more life sciences companies.

HighPoint, which has a long and successful track record implementing master data management (MDM) systems, will now offer its customers implementation services for Veeva Network, the only MDM application developed exclusively for the life sciences industry.

"Since 2007, our partnership with Veeva has enabled us to deliver the most innovative, industry-specific solutions available to our clients and backed by the company's commitment to customer success," said Chris Colapietro, HighPoint's executive vice president of technology.

"We are pleased to expand our relationship with Veeva's customer master solution. Veeva Network offers a single system for harmonized processes and worldwide visibility plus the flexibility to meet local market needs, making it the optimal solution for life sciences."

Dan Goldsmith, Veeva's chief strategy officer, agreed.

"Well-recognized and experienced in MDM solutions consulting, HighPoint has been helping life sciences organizations address the challenge of maintaining a single, complete customer view for nearly a decade. The company brings a strong vision and the depth of industry and technical expertise companies need."

Simpson

Retrofit magazine has named Strong-Wall SB wood shearwall, a product from Hacienda's Simpson Strong-Tie, to its list of the top 50 products of 2014.

The product is a prefabricated, trimmable wood shearwall that offers enhanced design flexibility and greater lateral-force-resistance performance for a range of applications, including supporting two-story structures, garage portals and large openings.

In areas susceptible to seismic activity or high winds, it provides structural support comparable to steel shearwalls in narrow panel widths.
