Pleasanton Seahawk shines at Junior Worlds

 

Pleasanton Seahawks standout Maxime Rooney won five medals for Team USA during the 2015 FINA Junior World Championships, held Aug. 25-30 in Singapore.

Rooney took home the gold in the 200 freestyle with a winning time of 1:47.78 and earned a silver medal in the 100 freestyle. He also helped the 4x200 freestyle relay to a gold medal and junior world record time, and he was part of the silver-winning 4x100 freestyle and 4x100 medley relays.

Team USA won the team championship trophy, and Rooney's performance earned him a spot on the 2015-16 U.S. national team.
