Dublin Green Gators win Tri-Valley Swim championship

Ruby Hill, Dublin swimmers set 5 new league records at season-ending meet

The Dublin Green Gators won the Tri-Valley Swim League championship in Pleasanton last weekend, taking the top spot in the season-ending meet featuring eight teams and more than 950 swimmers from 4 to 18 years old.

The Green Gators finished the Saturday event at the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center with 2,395 points overall, 355 points ahead of the second-place ClubSport Tidalwaves.

The Ruby Hill Red Raiders came in third with 2,034.5 points, followed by Del Prado Stingrays (2,006 points), Pleasanton Meadows Sharks (1,840 points), Briarhill Barracudas (1,341.5 points), DBAC Pirahnas (1,321 points) and Foothill Area Swim Team (FAST) Dolphins at 1,112 points.

Three Ruby Hill swimmers and one Green Gator posted new league records during the meet.

Red Raider Ryan Kobayashi set two 11-12 boys marks, with a 1:06.38 in the 100-yard individual medley and a 30.68 in the 50-yard backstroke.

Other Ruby Hill record-setters were Jenna Brown (girls 13-14) in the 50-yard backstroke at 29.06 and Kirsty Brown (girls 15-18) in the 50-yard backstroke at 28.98.

Dublin swimmer Sofia Gluck broke the league record in the 50-yard backstroke (girls 13-14) with a time of 33.67.

There were nine top individual scorers who each earned 60 points for their team.

On the girls side, there were Aubrey Tran and Jenna Brown of Ruby Hill and Meghan Hogue of Del Prado.

On the boys side, there were Tommy Hekl, Ryan Kobayashi, Joseph Louderback and Drew Kobayashi of Ruby Hill, Jake Fleming of Dublin and Darragh Kennedy of FAST.
