Congratulations to all the winners. We would like to especially congratulate our neighbors in Hopyard Village-Mr. Pickles, Valley Health Mill and Alexandria's who all won "Best of" for 2015. We hope some day PWeekly will have a "Cooking and Culinary" option under Epicure. After all Epicure means "a person who appreciates fine food and drink" and those are exactly our clients at Pans On Fire.

WOW...WOW - In an Out - the best burgers. What a total laugh.

It appears the folks living and eating in Pleasanton have no class knowledge of what good Burger's should taste like. In an Out Burgers what a laugh

Wake up Pleasanton people I know there are much better places in Pleasanton to have a great burger.

This information coming to you from Julia Pardini from Alamo.

How about the Garbage/Recycling Collection Company. Oh sorry don't a choice in that area...the Garbage Company has a City Franchise (in the old days we would call that a GOOD OLD BOY MONOPOLY)

Valley Plumbing Home Center, Inc. would like to thank everyone who voted for us. It's an honor to have had your votes for Best Plumbing company 10 years in a row! We strive hard every day to provide you with excellent service day or night. We work 24/7 and our techs work hard to give you "Integrity Before Profit" in every job they do. If we're installing a water heater or a bathtub for you we want to do it the best way we can and for the best cost. I hear some people say "you're to expensive", before they even know what we charge. Our rates are very competitive. If you can get other companies to tell you what they charge you'll understand we are the better choice. How many other plumbing companies can you walk through the door and talk to someone? Our knowledge, equipment and service that we provide is only part of why we are "The Best Plumber". We Are Proud to Live Here, Work Here and Support our community by making it safer through the work we do.
Thank You!!

Why is a restaurant that isn't even in Pleasanton making the list?

I couldn't agree with Julia more. If you voted for In-and-Out, then I would suggest you try The Habit, Nations, or Red Robin, all of which have a superior burger.

And I agree with Gillian, even though Casa Orozco is fantastic, better than any I have tried in Pleasanton, they are in DUBLIN! Why in the heck are they eligible to win this award every year?

How can frozen fries be the best fries? Do people around town suffer from some sort of taste buds' defficiency?

and Tully's isn't Indie. It is just another freaking chain in disguise.

Yea! Congrats to Valley Plumbing...great service, well deserved! I also agree that Tully's is NOT an indie place (they're all over - especially in Japan). I'd much rather vote for Starbucks (as long as we're voting for chain restaurants).

Confused, my family and I actually had a good meal at Eddie Papa's a couple of weeks ago - good not great.

What's worse is that Black Bear diner on Hopyard. I ate there once when they opened and the food was very bland and plain, maybe that's their appeal to some.

Awesome. Were these write-ins or did the Ptown Weekly put national chains on a pick list? How embarrassing.

I love Eddie Papa's and I am sad that anyone would post a negative comment about this restaurant. Ed is the most generous business owner in town and he provides the most welcoming and hospitable environment at his restaurant. And, the food is always great. Fun and creative offerings, a great wait staff and affordable prices - no wonder it was voted the BEST! It's definintely my family's best choice for all our important celebrations!

People go to restaurants for different reasons, and not necessarily the same reasons each time. Some go for the food, others go to be waited on or to be otherwise entertained. Not sure what's going on for "Confused" but I hope another local eatery fits the bill for him.

I agree with the comment about Casa Orozco...great food but not in Pleasanton. How did the PW staff let this one slip by? If it wants to open the Readers' Poll up to the Tri-Valley area, fine, but then they've got to call it that.

That's it. I don't think I can take another one of this best of FAKE lists.
I had a sandwich and fries from NONNIES 2 days ago and they far surpassed any MC-FRIKIN-DONALD'S FROZEN French fries!

PLEASANTON WEEKLY: PLEASE !!! Please, add ALL LOCAL BUSINESSES to your drop down category list and leave the chains for write in optional! That is sad when the local paper would rather support chains than local small business which Pleasanton has a lot of!

Maybe you would get more people to buy your ad placements after these contest if you were promoting them from the beginning.

The Weekly is a business too. They have included their regular advertiser in categories, most likely to get them to advertise more. They drop categories where none of the businesses in the category advertise. It's economics.

So I congratulate all the local small business owners (and franchisees) who get a bit more "free" advertising and bragging rights, but join with several commenting above in boycotting these polls as being shams.
