PUSD seeks applicants for calendar committee

Applications due May 6

The Pleasanton Unified School District is looking for parent applicants for its PUSD Calendar Advisory Committee -- made up of parents, staff and students.

The goal of the committee will be to explore possible calendar options for the 2016-17 school year and beyond, according to district officials.

The committee would meet for 2 hours in the late afternoon or early evening once in May and June, and then resume monthly meetings in September.

The application can be found online and is due May 6. Applications can be emailed to Bill Faragan at or dropped off at the school office.

On March 24, district staff discussed with the school board about a new process and timeline regarding the development of calendar options -- which included creating a calendar committee.

Board trustees voted Jan. 13 to revert back to the traditional calendar for the 2015-16 school year.
