Nominations now open for TV30's 'Coach of the Year' award

Winner will be announced at station's athletic awards event May 28

Nominations are now being accepted for TV30's Outstanding High School Coach of the Year Award.

The award will be presented at this year's Tri-Valley Sports Final Outstanding Athletic Awards event to be held Thursday, May 28 at the Robert Livermore Community Center.

The deadline to submit nominations is May 1.

"This will be the fifth year of our outstanding high school athletic awards for students," said Melissa Tench-Stevens, TV30 executive director.

"The coach motivates and provides guidance to the students and many times their support is so powerful it influences the students for the rest of their lives," she added. "We thought it was important to recognize the coach's dedication with this award."

It's easy to nominate your favorite coach. Just go to www.tv30.org and click on the banner at the top of the website. Fill out the short form to nominate your favorite coach.

The awards program is named for the station's "Tri-Valley Sports Final" program, a weekly broadcast on TV30 that covers team and individual sports with footage and commentary on high school sports in Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton.

Visit the Tri-Valley TV website at www.tv30.org for a schedule of days and times the show airs.
