TRAVELERS ALERT: State Route 4 to close for 3 nights starting tonight from Tracy Boulevard to Byron Road

Bridge repair work to end Wednesday

State Route 4 from Tracy Boulevard to Byron Road will be closed starting at 9 p.m. Sunday and then each night through next Wednesday for bridge repair.

The roadway will open at 5 a.m. each morning at 5 a.m. for regular commuter traffic.

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) said the detours during the closings are as follows:

SR-4 westbound detour is:

· southbound Tracy Boulevard

· westbound Interstate 205 (I-205)

· Grant Line Road exit

· westbound Naglee Road

· westbound Grant Line Road

· northbound Byron Highway

· continue to SR-4

SR-4 eastbound detour is:

· southbound Byron Highway

· eastbound Grant Line Road

· eastbound I-205

· northbound Tracy Boulevard

· continue to SR-4

Highway advisory radio and changeable message signs will be in use for motorists' information.

Caltrans warned that motorists should expect 30 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

Although the bridge work is scheduled to begin as listed, it is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials and construction related issues, Caltrans said.
