Downtown merchants and local breweries are coming together for a memorable night of beer tasting in an early celebration of St. Patrick's Day starting at 4:30 p.m. today.
The fourth annual Brew Crawl, sponsored by the Pleasanton Downtown Association, will continue until 8:30 p.m. Saturday, starting at the Veterans Memorial Building at 301 Main St.
Tickets are available for $40 online at PleasantonDowntown.net/ as well as at Redcoats Pub, 336 St. Mary St. and Studio Seven Arts, 400 Main Street for cash or check only. Tickets can be redeemed at the starting location.
Ticket holders will receive a commemorative glass to sample a variety of craft beer and eat tasty bites at 29 locations on and around Main Street while live music fills the air.
Participating breweries include 21st Amendment Brewery, Altamont Beer Works, Ballast Point Brewery, Bison Organic Beers, Drake's Brewing, E.J. Phair Brewing Company, Eight Bridges Brewing, Handles Crafted Brews, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Mendocino Brewing Co., Sauced Brewing Company, Schubros Brewery, Sierra Nevada, St. Florian's Brewery and Working Man Brewery.
New this year is the opportunity to buy a VIP Pass for $125. That will give the pass holder admission to four downtown events for 2015.
Included is tonight's St. Patrick's Day Brew Crawl, the annual Summer Wine Stroll on July 18, Halloween Brew Crawl on Oct. 24 and the Holiday Spirit Stroll on Nov. 21.
VIP Perks include a saving of 22% over regular ticket prices, no waiting to check in, and a chance to win a free dinner at a downtown restaurant.
Tonight, the PDA also will be selling a limited number of designated driver tickets for $10.
Besides the PDA, the Brew Crawl is sponsored by Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, LocalGruv, Beer Haven at the Alameda County Fair and the Tri-Valley Beer Trail.
