Airport officials are advising that all departing passengers check with their airlines before heading to San Francisco International Airport as dozens of flights were canceled yesterday due to bad weather in the Northeast.
Outgoing flights from SFO were canceled on various airlines Sunday, SFO director of community affairs Mike McCarron said. Eleven United Airlines flights were canceled, including four to New York and three to Newark, McCarron said. Continental Airlines canceled five flights to Newark.
American Airlines canceled four out of five flights to John F. Kennedy International Airport, and Virgin America also canceled two flights to JFK.
Passengers are strongly encouraged to check with their respective carriers to track changes and cancellations before arriving at SFO.
